OUR PARTNERSHIP
Black Stump Technologies is a sustainability technology company operating out of Melbourne, Australia. Their core solar technology was developed to withstand the harshest Australian remote areas, which means it will work anytime, anywhere in the world. Their Solarators® can be found in Australia, USA, the Pacific Islands, and Europe, with plans to expand into the Middle East and Asia. ROXBOX has entered a licensing agreement for the manufacturing and distribution of BlackStump products in the U.S. market. This allows both of our organizations to do what we do best: BlackStump can continue to create and innovate rapidly deployable solar containers, and our team can manufacture innovative, high-quality containers that solve problems.

A HELIOS Solarator® is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper to run over the long haul and typically cuts carbon emissions by up to 90% (100% is achievable). As energy consumption is the largest source of human-caused greenhouse gas production, choosing a commercial renewable energy-powered generator means you immediately reduce your carbon emissions and environmental footprint.
Additionally, diesel costs continue to rise over the long run, making a diesel genset increasingly more expensive compared to a lower cost, more reliable and low-carbon Solarator®.
Diesel gensets are also typically oversized for a site, a decision based on peak load that has a downstream effect of making the genset inefficient and more expensive to operate.
Solar power offers a free and unlimited power source. It is available practically anywhere in the world making it an ideal source of energy where traditional solutions are inadequate. Compared with diesel generators that are traditionally used where grid connections are unreliable, solar has a low operating and maintenance cost and does not need infrastructure or fuel requirements. With solar, you don’t need regular servicing by specialist personnel, you don’t need to find regular and easy access to fuel, and you don’t need to store fuel and maintain its quality. In terms of environmental impact, solar power generation produces no greenhouse gas emissions or air pollution. Solar power is clean, green, quiet and scalable.
The secret is our complex and integrated engineering solution of solar, battery and (bio) diesel in our Solarator® product range ensuring reliability in all conditions, 365 days a year, 24/7. The three sources of power are controlled by the HELIOS Battery and Energy Management System (BEMS).
Solar power offers a free and unlimited power source that’s available almost anywhere. All of this clean, solar energy is sent directly to the load, with the remainder recharging batteries. The (bio) diesel generator provides back-up and boosts energy when required.
Solarator® deployment is quick and easy! Our Solarators® are mobile, modular, and rapidly deployable products ready to plug and play. After offloading the Solarator® from the truck, one person can roll out the solar panels and connect the unit. You have power inside 30 minutes! All operations are completed at ground level and require minimal labor.
Our Solarators® have been proven to work in harsh climates and remote locations all over the world. In the event of severe weather conditions, Solarators® can be quickly stowed and redeployed to protect your site power from weather damage. Our HELIOS units take local environmental conditions into consideration, such as daily average solar power generation potential, weather patterns, and air quality, and are designed to operate reliably in these conditions. Our integrated solar/battery/(bio) diesel design also means your site will still have power.
Different Solarators® are selected by taking local environmental conditions into consideration, such as daily average solar power generation potential, weather patterns and air quality. Our Solarators® are designed and manufactured to high standards. They will operate reliably in all conditions, 24/7 and 365 days a year on your site based on your power demands with integrated battery and/or diesel backup.
Yes. Our Solarators® are engineered to be rapidly deployable by one person using minimal physical effort. If your site isn’t operating or if you need to relocate, the Solarators® can be quickly packed away and transported by road, rail, or sea. The unit can be redeployed and fully operational again in under 30 minutes.
No. HELIOS' control system monitors battery condition and reduces the system electrical loads to assist in the protection of the batteries and battery charge levels. For units with an integrated diesel generator, this will power up to recharge the batteries. In the event of a battery failure the system will swap to standby mode and alert us (Wi-Fi connection required).
For the fold-out Solarators® typically 50m x 10m is required. For our compact range, as little as 6m x 3m is needed.
Properly designed and built power generation and refrigeration systems are inherently reliable and have a very low maintenance requirement. Minor tasks, such as keeping Solarators® clean, are easily achieved, low cost and can be performed locally. ROXBOX provides training for minor maintenance and repairs. System life is 20 years plus, so a cost effective and comprehensive maintenance program should be discussed with your ROXBOX representative.
No. Only a firm, level surface. Entry and exit areas should be kept clean to prevent the introduction of foreign matter into the container to protect the electrical components within.
ROXBOX equips our customers with the power to turn data into valuable knowledge through our portal’s powerful reporting feature. What makes our portal unlike the rest is its ability to analyze the performance of your Solarator® unit or fleet against diesel and generate a downloadable report with just a few clicks. Within minutes, our customers can verify expected outcomes and make data-driven operational, environmental, and financial decisions. Having the ability to customize reports allows decision-makers at different levels of the organization to save time, money, and effort on data analysis.
No. With a simple push-button operation, the Solarators® need only be set down and the solar panels deployed. All operations are from ground level and require no special tools or training. The mobile solar generator system is fully operational in under 30 minutes. Our website has a video showing how to operate our products.
Comprehensive & accredited training in solar and refrigeration systems is also available through ROXBOX.
With our plug and play Solarators®, you can set up installations of any size. Our team will work with you to design the most optimal solution for your requirements.
Yes. Our Solarators® can be easily scaled up to meet growth and energy demands. There is a facility to direct additional solar or wind power modules, generator connections, and the provision for backup from external grid power. External electrical inspection and approvals may be required.
